About me
Josh is in year four as a Regional Mathematics Specialist, where he helps educators make math experiences that are engaging, joyful, and relevant. He taught secondary math in Boise and West Ada school districts and online with IDLA. Now, he partners with educators to reimagine what math class can be—grounded in professional growth, curiosity, and a shared commitment to giving students something better.Josh helped coauthor the Idaho 9–12 Mathematics Course Planning Guide and supports the Idaho Math Pathways initiative. He passionately believes that mathematics—which isn’t just computation—can be enjoyed by all, and that educators have a responsibility to create math experiences that are joyful, engaging, and applicable for both students and themselves. Outside work, Josh tutors math and computer science, directs a children’s choir, and juggles life at home with his wife, five kids, one cat, a gaggle of musical instruments and recording gear, and a book menagerie.
